Testing to validate FEA is a large portion of our work. We correlate both our own FEA and the FEA supplied by our customers.

Correlation data can be single or multi-axis constraint forces, deflections, strains, or combinations thereof. We have performed correlation testing on full scale aircraft and aircraft components. We have performed this type of testing for 20 years and have successfully completed over 100 correlation tests including full scale aircraft and subcomponents.

This project was a modification to the aft fuselage of an airplane. Strain gages were installed and unit loads applied. The FEA was correlated by matching strains from the FEA to those measured in the test.
